What are the benefits of Acupuncture and how does Acupuncture work?

There are numerous benefits of acupuncture, it is proven to be effective to improve on almost every long or short term problems and disease. It is especially effective for muscle problems, fertility and emotional distress. This is because the TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) believes in internal organ functions and looks to tackle the visible and invisible imbalances of our body.

For example, our body is like a fully blown balloon. If we apply pressure to one side of the balloon, the air inside the balloon will be forced to move to the other side and stretch the balloon. This is how blockage in our body forms, usually through our lifestyle or environment. Once the blockage is formed, it is like the balloon getting bigger and stretched on one side, or in other words swollen. For example, one common reason for your back or neck pain is caused by nerves being pressed by the ‘invisible’ swell, because the Chi (air) is blocked somewhere inside our body, i.e. the problem area.

By applying acupuncture to the correct Acupoint, the blocked channel (meridians) will gradually open up through the stimulation from the acupoint.

A lot of you may have tried acupuncture before, and said it does not work for you. There are two main reasons for that:

1.     Acupuncture is a natural treatment, unlike chemically synthesised tablets that target the symptoms and give you a quick fix. With Acupuncture, because it’s natural, sometimes you will not see any result after a few sessions. The longer the problem you have the longer it will take an Acupuncturist to treat the problem. This is because the longer you leave your problem, the weaker your internal system or organs function weakens, therefore takes longer and hard to treat and recover.

2.     This is the most common misconception from patients. They often say that they have tried acupuncture and it didn’t work. Often this is because they tried 1 or 2 sessions as we explained in the previous point. However, it is also very closely linked to the acupuncturist’s experience and what s/he diagnoses. Based on the diagnostics, the Acupoint s/he applies will dictate the treatment result. So seeing the right doctor who listens and has the relevant experience is utterly important in one’s treatment result.

New Year New You

We all know the quickest way to lose weight is to eat healthy and exercise regularly. For the majority of us who still struggle to lose the extra pound, this is largely due to your body being imbalanced inside. For example, if your digestive system is weak, they are not going to function as well. If food are not broken down properly, your intestines will have to work extra hard, so more and more of your organs will get affected, your body becomes more and more imbalanced.

By this point, going to gym or eating healthy will not help you rectify the imbalance. We apply acupuncture to target the root cause and help your body to regain its balance and its healthy states, thus gradually your body loses the excessive weight by itself.

Be warned, it is a long and lengthy process but the end result is to be healthier and feeling more beautiful from within.

Are you spending your money in the right place

Today I want to talk about Money and Health.

Many of our new patients come in and without much understanding of what we do, they often ask us to either give guarantee or give them a definitive number of treatments before start the treatment at our clinics.

My response usually is, we DO NOT guarantee anything. Just like going to GP, they cannot guarantee you anything, and nor can any other doctors. We are all different and have complicated conditions, and based on that the treatment we give will be different for each individual.

We understand that money is an important factor to consider but ask yourself, are you spending your money in the right place? Isn't your health your number 1 priority in life, without a healthy body, you cannot enjoy life. Find the right help and get the right treatment !

What's your choice?

Single Treatment VS a Course Treatment

Which do you choose?

The answer is - it's up to you!

For some problems, especially new problems, 1 session of acupuncture can be effective enough, for other more chronicle problems we recommend a course treatment of at least 5-6 sessions, and here's the reason why:

  1. Acupuncture helps opening up the blockage, the TCM believes all pain or illness comes from blockage, once the blockage is opened up, the pain or illness will be gone.
  2. Acupuncture heals the body naturally, it 'teaches' the body to learn to heal itself by correcting the CHI (energy level) and blood circulation. This is a gradual and long term process.
  3. Western medicine are effective because they are 'strong' in a sense that they are artificially made with different chemicals that works on the symptoms quickly, but not the cause, so we have to rely on them.
  4. Chinese herbal medicine and Acupuncture are completely natural with no side effect. Although it is a long term treatment, it is only effective if you take a series and continuous treatment. Doctors usually changes your treatment plan each week based on the individual's condition.

Are you taking enough pills (chemical toxin) each day

I have worked and managed in the health sector for more than 30 years and through my experience, I have seen a lot of sick clients who walk through our clinics, taking years of pain killers for their neck, shooulder and back pain or having gone through series of operations from the side effects that these pain killers had caused. I ask them, why would they still taking the chemical/toxic medication if they are not helping you. The answer is often they didn't know what else could help them.

Acupuncture and herbal medicine is the best way to treat chronicle problems such as the muscle pain, stress and depression. Majorities of the time, these problems are all inter linked. There is no magic pills out there that would cure a problem which happened for years. The TCM is a longer term and natural treatment that target the root cause of the problem not the symptom.
